Vyacheslav Yervandovich Avakov is Doctor of Medical Sciences, professor, and founder of the Department of Anesthesiology and Reanimatology in Uzbekistan. Author of over 300 scientific publications and eight monographs.  In 1974–2009, head of the Department of Anesthesiology and Reanimatology at Tashkent State Medical Institute, and subsequently at Tashkent Medical Academy. Currently he heads the National Training Center for Emergency Medical Services.
