Karimov Foundation’s exhibition project “Fashion in Uzbekistan: Yesterday and Today”
The Karimov Foundation’s new exhibition project – “Fashion in Uzbekistan: Yesterday and Today” – traces the history of fashion in Uzbekistan from the 1960’s to the present day.
The exhibition is under way in the Tashkent House of Photography and comprises two sections. The first room, dedicated to the history of fashion in Uzbekistan from 1960-2000, features photographs, clothes, sketches and magazines of that time. The second hall focuses on modern fashion in Uzbekistan and spotlights collections by six contemporary designers: Saida Amir, Taisiya Chursina, LALI Fashion House (Lali Fazylova), Moel Bosh brand (Zuhra Inat), Markhamat Umarova and Hilola Sher.
To accompany this exhibition, the Karimov Foundation has also published a catalogue as part of its aim to popularize Uzbekistan’s cultural and historical heritage.
“Fashion in Uzbekistan: Yesterday and Today” will run from 10th to 30th March at the Tashkent House of Photography located at:
4, Istikbol St., Tashkent.
Doors open from 10:00 to 17:00 daily (except Monday).
