Over the next two years, these ten young people will be studying for their master’s degree at some of the leading universities in Europe, including Grenoble Alpes University (France), the University of Geneva (Switzerland), the University of Freiburg (Germany), the University of Wroclaw (Poland), the Technical University of Braunschweig (Germany), the University of Applied Sciences Jena (Germany), HMKW University for Media, Communication and Business (Germany), Ruhr University Bochum (Germany).
The scholarship winners will receive education in the following fields of study: renewable energy, chemistry, mechanical engineering, tourism, communication and public relations.
The Karimov Foundation is a charitable organization founded in October 2016 by Lola Karimova-Tillyaeva and Tatyana Karimova in memory of Islam Karimov, the founder of the independent Republic of Uzbekistan and its first president. One of the key goals of the Foundation is to provide access to educational opportunities for young people from Uzbekistan through merit-based scholarships awarded in various academic disciplines and fields of study.
Under the Karimov Foundation’s 2017-19 scholarship programmes a total of 32 young Uzbeks have received an opportunity to study at some of the leading European universities.
