French cardiac surgeon Olivier Baron has arrived in Tashkent to offer specialist advice and treatment to children with congenital heart diseases from Uzbekistan’s low-income families and orphanage homes. This charity campaign is backed by Lola Karimova-Tillyaeva’s You Are Not Alone Foundation. During the visit, which is taking place from 15-21 January, Professor Olivier Baron will examine and provide consultations to about 70 children from Uzbekistan’s various regions, those with the most complex forms of heart defect will be operated on.

As part of the charity programme backed by the You Are Not Alone Foundation, since 2015 French cardiac surgeons have operated on over 120 Uzbek children in need, 21 of these surgical procedures were carried out in the paediatric clinic in Nantes, France.
